OVERVIEW
The Practicum is an innovative and immersive experience of developing technology solutions to the greatest grand challenges in sustainability. The course will be co-delivered by award-winning Ivey Professors Lara Liboni and Oana Branzei, in collaboration with Insper partners Sergio Lazzarini and Sandro Cabral and Singularity U partner, the founder of Itaqui - SPTech). It includes two sessions pre-departure at Ivey, with the balance of 8 sessions held on site and in person in/near São Paulo with leading IT entrepreneurs working at the intersection of technology and sustainability. Half of these eight sessions will be hosted in the Atlantic Forest, 20 minutes from São Paulo, where students will be lodged during the 5-day long field trip. Half of these eight sessions will be spent on site at our two partner organizations (Insper and Itaqui). On each site, MSc students will hear from leading IT entrepreneurs in Brazil, and have the opportunity to network.
The core practicum leverages in-classroom teaching during the elective courses Ivey MSc students take from September to November. It also applies their learning from three practitioner-led modules delivered at Ivey in London, Ontario.
